Pet Surgery

Experience and Compassion

If you are looking for quality pet care, you certainly want to choose a veterinarian who has performed pet surgeries many times. Dr. Chandan Manesh and Dr. Nav Malhi have many years of experience in various pet surgeries, both planned and emergencies. We understand that you will probably be worried and stressed about your pet going into surgery, which is why our veterinarians want you to feel comfortable in turning your beloved pet over to our surgical team and to rely on them to return your pet in a timely manner.

Before the Surgery

Before any pet surgery is approved, our veterinarians will take a medical history and conduct a physical examination on your pet to determine his or her state of health and ability to undergo surgery. After that, we will make our best recommendations for surgery, discuss recuperation time, and make a follow-up plan. Of course, having surgery also means having anesthesia. We take all the safety precautions possible, including a thorough physical examination, and possibly blood tests, ultrasound, ECG, radiographs, or electrocardiograms.

After the Surgery

Depending on how serious the surgery is, your pet will be monitored afterward anywhere from several hours to several days. This is to make sure that your pet fully recovers from anesthesia and surgery. Our team will notify you when they consider your pet is stable enough to be discharged home. Your pet may need oral antibiotics, application of topical medications, bandage changes, special bath treatments, and a special diet. We will make sure you understand all of these discharge instructions so that you can get your pet back to their normal routine as soon as possible. You will be given a follow-up appointment to check that your pet is progressing and healing as expected. During the period between discharge and follow-up, you can call our animal hospital for any questions or concerns.
